Jim Slaton runs the Canopy Piloting School with Elite Flight Training for all levels of parachutist. His training progams will get you where you want to be in the shortest time possible. When other programs are holding you "back with the pack" his elite program is challenging you to be all you can be.
The Canopy Piloting School is one of the most progressive canopy piloting programs in the world. Jim offers coaching for individuals or groups looking to excel in flying parachutes. His program includes one on one coaching, basic skills camps, competition camps, Ultra Camps and more. Jim has been teaching advanced parachuting for over a decade and has the experience to teach all facets of canopy piloting, in the most efficient and safe atmosphere possible.
In addition to teaching parachuting from skydiving there is a new way to increase your skills with ground launching. Ground Launch training has been called the wind tunnel for canopy pilots. Jim created the Ground Launch Center (GLC) in Lake Isabella, CA in 2004 and offers pilots the chance to practice flying parachutes without jumping out of an aircraft!
Jim provides ground launch camps and classes teaching the fundamentals of "active piloting" and other flight techniques while flying closer to the ground. Unlike a typical parachute landing from a skydive where your near the ground for only a few seconds, Jim's training center in California offers variety of programs including a classes for people with no parachuting experience, "low timers" with only a few skydives or competition swoopers who are looking to perfect the art.
